Size: Ranges from penny size up to quarter size (~19-23mm) You will receive one (1) coin per quantity purchased. Rulers and designs vary, common emperors include Aurelian and Gallienus. Coins may have natural patina and toning.
These double denarius coins are primarily bronze, with a thin coating of silver. They were produced during the Crisis of the Third Century, a period of time where the Roman Empire nearly collapsed due to frequent assassinations of emperors, barbarian incursions, and civil war. As a result of the instability and monetary inflation of the time, these coins which had once been made of primarily silver were debased to bronze coins with a thin coating of silver.
