Short history 440 foot long Great Lakes Cargo ship built in Lorain , Ohio over winter of 1903-1904.  Served for the Hawgood family based in Cleveland Ohio.  In 1916 ship was sold with other fleet mates to Pittsburg Steamship Company, re-named E. C. Collins after that companies transportation manager.  Served in that fleet until 1944, then sold to Kinsman Transit Company (Steinbrenner Fleet).  Served with that fleet until 1956 when Portland Huron Cement purchased vessel, renamed J. B. Ford.  Converted to cement bulk carrier winter 1958-1959 (same year as opening of Seaway).  Served with that fleet until 1985 then still part of that fleet, but used as a storage barge.  In 2015 vessel sold for scrap to Azcon Metals (Duluth, MN office).  Vessel has been slowly rusting away at the dock there.  In Feb/Mar 2021, they began breaking up the stern of this ship.  Wikipedia also has more details on this ship.  This is a neat pin made in China around 2006.  Re-tell your Great Lakes tale to your friends guest as you show them this collectible pin.
