DS1VME2 (P/N 1184515E5)
The DS1VME and DS1VME2 multiplex/demultiplex an STS-1
on the OMM (28 VT1.5-mapped DS1 circuits) to/from 28 rear-panel DS1 facilities. The
DS1VME(2) provide framing for the DS1s.
The following features are supported on the DS1VME(2):
STS-1 path protection, path termination, performance monitoring, alarm surveillance, and provisioning
Supports AMI and B8ZS encoding
Analog receiver automatically equalizes
Monitors DS1 for LCVs, LOS, LOF, and AIS
Supports in-band and out-of-band controlled loopbacks
Timing derived from the OMM
Can provide system timing to the chassis (OMM)
Supports ESF, SF, SCC96, and unframed framing formats
Auto frame format sensing
Requires a fan assembly
Operates in any chassis, from any MS slot designated for DS1 service.
For redundant operation, the slot pairs are as follows:
MX chassis: slots 3&4, 7&8, and 9&10
SMX chassis: slots 3&4
LMX chassis: slots 1&2, 3&4, 5&6, 7&8, 9&10, 11&12, 13&14, 15&16, 17&18, 19&20, 21&22, and 23&24
