Ancient Silver Denarius Drachma Coin set in a Stylish Sterling Silver Pendant Mounting. This Silver Drachma was one of the world's earliest coins derived from the Greek verb meaning "to grasp" & its original value was equivalent to a handful of arrows. The 6 gram 1 3/8" X 3/4" Coin Pendant dangles from a Polished Bail is from Alexander the Great's time (2nd Century B.C.) & around 2300 years old. Bust portrait depicting a Lion Headed Hercules in the guise of Alexander the Great is on the Obverse Side & Hercules or Zeus is seated on a Throne on the Reverse Side of this Macedon Silver Drachma.
