Atomic number 67, holmium is a malleable, silver-coloured rare earth (or lanthanide) metal. Holmium has the highest magnetic permeability and magnetic saturation of any element and, as such, is used to make static
magnets. Holmium is also strongly absorbs neutrons, so can be used in nuclear reactors.
