Play attention because most of the canteras opals in internet are reconstructed fake!! Small piece of smoked  black opal are fit in a fake matrix. This fake stones are easy to discover because matrix show swirly texture, opal edges are smoothed and the opal is always dark in order to cover the fake. Black Mexican opal is very rare, so they use normal opals passed through smoke that acquire a dark aspect.
This is a true stone, you can appreciate the transparency of the opal and see through it the matrix in the back.
