Minerals and Petrified Wood 47 Year Old Mint Vintage Stamp Block from 1974

Description

A beautiful collectible 4 stamp block set of U.S. postage stamps issued on June 13th, 1974 to honor the hobby of lapidary, the art of collecting, cutting and polishing rocks to make them into beautiful gems.
The stamps are the first "diamond" shaped stamps and feature petrified wood and crystals as tourmaline, rhodochrosite and amethyst.
These stamps have never been used and are as fresh as the day they were sold at the Post Office almost 50 years ago! Suitable for framing, they would make a great gift to anyone interested in lapidary!
