Natural Beach double helix-shaped hag stone,
Coquinoid Sandstone
Tumbled by the tides and time.
Perfected in all ways by Mother Ocean.
Collected by me along the shores of the Treasure Coast.
This unique grey stone is approximately 1 7/8" x 1" x 3/4" thick.
The double helix is relatively straight with one hole slightly larger than the other.
You’ll notice a 1/4” dowel and a 5/16” dowel in the photo.
I used a 6 gage wire to put through both holes simultaneously.  (Again, see photos.)
This stone is the only one shaped like a double helix (like a very short DNA strand) that
I’ve found in all my time rock hounding.... unique shape. The holes are large, easy to
see through. The stone is smooth and all edges rounded.
Makes me wonder about it’s creation, how, how long, where, why....
