Natural Beach Stones, Coquinoid Sandstone, Bird-head Shaped
Surf tumbled by the tides and time, free range.
Wild caught by me along the shores of the Treasure Coast.
These stones are 3/4” to 1 1/8” wide.
They are tan and gray.
I see bird/duck or chicken heads and one chickadee body/head.
The reverse side is also shown. Some have a second good side, some become something else on the backside.
Four are also hag stones. Bonus....

Hag stones have occupied myth and magic folklore for centuries.
But what are Hag Stones?
Hag stones are stones that have a
naturally occurring hole inside them. These stones are often
found along the coastal points, beaches, and streams. These
holes occur from the elements
beating down upon them over
many years.  There are also speculations that these mysterious
stones may have been formed by a “worm hole”. A Hag stone is
also known as a Witch Stone
or Adder Stone or Holey Stone and
has quite a bit of lore and many magical properties associated
with them.  Part of the folklore is that if you look through the holes
you can see fairies.
