    Description

Estate Sale find. Large and heavy Oklahoma Barite Rose Rock Cluster Sculpture or art piece, mounted on a black rectangular base. Probably 1970s or '80s vintage, and possibly created by the Joe Timberlake studio that was in business near Norman, Oklahoma. There is a bit of what looks like old adhesive on the base where a label may have been. A chunky cluster of rose rocks still in aggregate (if this is the correct term) serves as the foundation for four individual rose rocks mounted on metal stems, made to look like flowers in a bouquet. The base rock cluster measures about 8" across and 4" tall. The flat rectangular base measures about 10" by 6". Height from top of individual flowers to bottom of base is about 8.5". There are some dings and scratches to the base. The entire thing is heavy, weighing just over 7 pounds. I'm not too knowledgeable about barite rose rocks, except that I know they are found in a narrow north-south swath through Oklahoma. Please see pictures for details and condition, and let me know if you have any questions or want to see additional pictures of specific areas. Shipped via USPS Priority Mail or more economical USPS Parcel Select Ground. I pack with care. Shipped weight will be 8 pounds. Thank you for your interest.
