Description
With a war raging in Europe, Washington, DC created the Civil Aeronautics Authority (CAA - predecessor to the FAA) in an effort to train pilots in case of war. The chairman of this program, Robert Hinckley (his name is on the inside of this cover and pictured) created the Civilian Pilot Training Program (CPTP). between 1939-40 thousands of civilian pilot were trained.Here is one of the student pilot log book used for testing those pilots. It's unused and in great condition.
Regardless of the thousands of new pilots receiving this log book, there are not many in existence today
