Soaring Society of America Pin / Tie Tac

Up for sale is a lapel pin or tie tack from the Soaring Society of American.  I believe this item is sterling, but can't make out the marking on the back of the pin.  It has it's original backing piece and not that it is important, but it is on it's original piece of cardboard.
