Black river obsidian can only be found in one ancient Peruvian lava flow. It is unique in that it ofter has what appears to be fossils in them, however they are giant snowflakes or ash pockets. This stone is wonderful for knapping. I have knapped with it for years. It can have slight variation in how it looks. As it gets thin you can see through it. Its black-faintly purplish. Sometime has fog in it and rarely is fully snowflaked. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail Large Flat Rate Box.
