This Beautiful Teepee Canyon – Black Hills Fairburn Agate has been Face Polished on the top surface to a high gloss finish; the back & sides are rough-natural and it sits nicely for display of the polished surface.
This agate was collected in the Teepee Canyon & Hells Canyon area of the Black Hills that contains an astounding variety of agates in their host Jasper & Limestone Concretions/ Nodules. These agates are sometimes referred to as "Hills Agates" and they are in the source location for Fairburn Agates that weathered out and were moved by natural erosional forces to the grasslands and badlands of western South Dakota.
