Raicho translates to thunderbird, and refers to members of the population of Japanese Rock Ptarmigan that migrated south during the last ice age and settled permanently in the high alpine areas across the county's moutainous Chubu region.
About 10" - this is the "large" version of this beanie

These are made very well and don't have those "big eyes" that so many Ty products now have.  It's like a throwback to old school Ty.
